TEFCOLD acquires Eureka

The TEFCOLD Group has acquired Eureka, a distributor of cooling equipment to the professional market in Germany. Eureka has its head office in Emsdetten in Germany.


“The addition of Eureka to the TEFCOLD Group will strengthen the group and help us strengthening the presence of the TEFCOLD brand in the important German market.” says TEFCOLD CEO Jesper Kirkeby Hansen. “We have known Eureka for many years, it is a great company with great people and the acquisition is an important step in our growth strategy.”


Eureka is based in Emsdetten, has a total of 15 employees in Germany and has its stronghold selling commercial coolers and freezers to large brand owners such as beer and ice cream manufacturers in Germany. It has an outstanding service set up covering the whole of Germany as well and an unbeaten name in the market. The Company will change its name to TEFCOLD DE GmbH and will be working out of the offices in Emsdetten.


“We have decided to sell Eureka for personal reasons but cannot imagine a better owner than TEFCOLD” States Eureka part owner Eric Thiery. “We have known TEFCOLD for many years and have a very close relationship to the company and the owners of TEFCOLD. We are certain that Eureka and its employees will be in good hands in the TEFCOLD family.”


Simon Christensen has been promoted to Managing Director Germany and will head up the management in TEFCOLD DE GmbH. The rest of the Eureka management and staff will stay in the company as today.


TEFCOLD Group is headquartered in Viborg, Denmark and has 170 employees in 10 countries. TEFCOLD is selling to more than 6000 customers globally. The supply chain is handled from its 8 warehouses in Europe with deliveries of more than 170.000 coolers and freezers to around 100 countries globally.
